To place a paper in the official custody of the clerk of court / court administrator to enter into the files or records of a case.

 

Filling Fee

The fee required for filling various documents.

 

First World Countries

Term used for "western, industrialized, non-communist countries," was the previously accepted criteria, but in view of the emergence of Japan as an economic power and the rising status of Russia and China, "industrialised" is probably the only remaining valid criterion for a "First World Country" at this time.

 

Five Dragons

Term used to describe the emerging economies of Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand.

 

Forfeiture

A cancellation. A legal action whereby a contract purchaser following default loses all his interest in the property.

 

Free Zone

An area within a country (a seaport, airport, warehouse or any designated area) regarded as being outside its customs territory where importers may bring goods of foreign origin without paying customs duties and taxes, pending their eventual processing, transshipment or re-exportation.

 

Freehold

A special right granting the full use of real country for an indeterminate time. It differs from leasehold, which allows possession for a limited time. There are varieties of freehold such as fee simple and fee tail.

 

Freeholder

A person who owns freehold property rights (i.e., in a piece of real country, either land or a building).
